If a kitchen door is swollen, split or missing, wrapping it won't help. We cut new flat doors on our own CNC machine in Cambuslang, then wrap them to match. We were the first kitchen wrappers in Scotland to use CNC machinery to cut new doors in-house.
Why a damaged door can't just be wrapped
Wrap follows the shape of whatever is underneath it. A door that has swollen near the sink or dishwasher, split at the hinge, or started to peel will still look swollen, split or peeling once it's wrapped, and the film may not hold on it.
So a damaged door has to be replaced. Without a workshop, that usually means ordering one in and waiting for it.
What our CNC machine does
We invested in a Spartan CNC router from Mantech. It cuts doors and drawer fronts from sheets of MDF, held flat on a vacuum bed, to the millimetre. A door that used to take a full day by hand now takes minutes.
Each new door is cut to the sizes our surveyor measures in your kitchen, then wrapped in our dedicated wrap room before it goes in. So a new door gets the same finish and the same care as the ones we re-cover.
What that means for your kitchen
- Damaged doors stop being a problem. Swollen, chipped or broken doors get replacement doors as part of the same job, alongside any worktop wrapping.
- Everything matches. New doors are wrapped in the same finish as the rest, so they sit in with the whole kitchen.
- You can change the layout of the doors. On a recent job in Uddingston, a corner cupboard with one door became a pair, and we cut 19 new fronts from three sheets of MDF for the whole kitchen.
- No waiting on someone else. The doors are cut in the same building where they're wrapped.
Our kitchen door wrapping page explains how we re-cover doors that are in good shape. New doors cost more than wrapping the ones you have, so we'll always tell you honestly which yours need.
Replacement kitchen doors across Glasgow
See our replacement kitchen doors in Glasgow page for how it works and what to ask us. Our workshop and showroom are both in Cambuslang, just outside Glasgow. We fit new doors across the city and beyond: see our kitchen wrapping in Glasgow and kitchen wrapping in Cambuslang pages. If you'd like to see the finishes, or ask about a door that's past saving, come in and talk to the team. You can read more about how the workshop grew on our about page.
Questions people ask
Can you wrap a swollen kitchen door?
Not if the board itself has swollen. Wrap follows the shape underneath, so the swelling would still show and the film may not hold. We cut a new door instead and wrap it to match the rest.
Will a new door match my wrapped doors?
Yes. The new door is wrapped in the same finish, in the same wrap room, as the doors we re-cover, so it sits in with the rest of the kitchen.
How do I get a price for new doors?
Ask for a free quote and tell us which doors are damaged or missing. We'll price the new doors in with the rest of the job.
